Sunday set aside for Imperial coed softball tourney

It took some work seeding it, but the Imperial coed softball league tournament is ready to be played on Sunday.
The double-elimination tournament’s first game kicks off the day at 10 a.m. at Schroeder Park.
After the eight-week regular season concluded Monday night, three teams finished with identical 6-2 records. Coordinator Jennifer Stafford then had some work to do.
Among the top three teams—Team Dirt Road, Sons of Pitches and Beverage Barn—she said they first looked at wins/losses against each other. Team Dirt Road came out on top so was seeded first.
Sons of Pitches and Beverage Barn tied for wins against all three teams, so she looked next at how they did against each other. Beverage Barn had lost to Sons of Pitches, so Sons of Pitches earned No. 2.
The top two teams, Team Dirt Road and Sons of Pitches, earned first round byes Sunday. They face the winners of the two other games for their first contests.
The championship game is scheduled for 7 p.m., but an 8 p.m. contest will be played if necessary.
