Smokin’ pride

. . . when we do something, we do it right.

Over the years, Imperial has built the reputation that when we do something, we do it right—no half-hearted efforts here. There are plenty of examples around town as proof.
Last weekend’s third annual Smokin’ on Broadway serves as one more of those events where it’s been done right.
What started out as a BBQ contest has grown into a full day of activities that gives Imperial its own identity outside of the Chase County fair—another event done right!
The recently completed skatepark sets yet another example of doing things right.
There are a lot of skateboarders and communities who would love to have this park.
In fact, Matthew Ratliff, the skate director for Mike Smith’s The Bay in Lincoln, said Imperial’s skate park is probably the premier outdoor skate park in Nebraska right now.
He said if he had a choice, he’d drive right by Lincoln’s skate park and drive five hours west to skate Imperial’s new park.
While Omaha has a larger park, he said Imperial’s offers more variety for all ages and rider skill levels. Wow!
Imperial’s Smokin’ on Broadway committee can take great pride in what they have built in just three short years. In fact, Imperial as a whole can take pride in the event along with all the other things that we continue to do the “right way.”
