Monday is deadline for baseball, softball forms
Parents have just a few more days to submit registration forms at the original fee if planning for their children to play in the Imperial summer baseball and softball program.
After Monday, the registration fee increases by $15. If registered by Monday, the fee is $50, then it goes to $65.
On Tuesday this week, 39 registrations had been submitted to the city office. Forms can be picked up there or at the school.
Coordinators said it’s important to get the forms in by the deadline so teams can be properly divided and schedules set. A late registration may risk assignment to a team.
Ryan Wisnieski is coordinating the city’s ball team schedules, while Carl Zuege will be in charge of field preparation for games.
Teams for boys include T-Ball (age 5-7), Pony baseball (8-10), Pee Wee baseball (11-13) and Junior/Senior Legion baseball (14-18).
Girls can compete in T-Ball (age 6-8), Pony softball (9-11) and junior softball (12-14).
Team assignments are based on the youth’s age as of May 1, 2018 for boys and Aug. 1, 2018 for girls.
Games usually start the end of May or early June.
