CCS students compete at district speech tournament

Four Chase County Schools (CCS) speech students competed March 13 in Broken Bow at the district competition.
Hayley Vitosh placed fifth with her informative speech.
The other students giving presentations were Tegan Towns and Mackenzie Soltis, both performing poetry selections, and Halle Fiedler and Towns presenting a duet piece.
“I am extremely proud of how hard my students worked this season. I am especially proud of my senior, Hayley Vitosh. Her work ethic and positivity will be missed greatly next year. She left her mark as a great competitor for CCS for four successful years in speech,” said Alex Schilke, CCS speech coordinator.
The State Speech tournament will be held in Kearney today (Thursday).
Participants must have placed in the top three in the district finals to advance to the state competition.
