U.S. Senate candidate visits with Imperial area voters

Todd Watson of Lincoln, a Republican candidate for U.S. Senate, was in Imperial last Thursday, meeting with area voters at Broadway Steakhouse over the noon hour. He spent much of his visit challenging Sen. Deb Fischer’s stand on issues, which he said violates the U.S. Constitution. He noted that both Sens. Fischer and Ben Sasse opposed Donald Trump as president. He also noted Fischer’s “F” rating from the Conservative Review. Watson maintains his opponent in the upcoming Primary has failed to keep her campaign promises to cut spending and reduce the national debt, and said she has voted to fully fund Planned Parenthood three times. Before his stop in Imperial, he spoke in Columbus, Grand Island, Broken Bow, Lexington, North Platte and Ogallala, then traveled on to other scheduled stops in McCook, Holdrege, Axtell, Minden, Hastings and Aurora.
