4-H families, volunteers celebrate accomplishments

    More than 100 4-Hers, family members and volunteers gathered Nov. 7, for the annual 4-H Achievement Program at the Chase County Fairgrounds.
    The 4-H Achievement Program is held each year to honor and celebrate the accomplishments of 4-H youths as well as recognize the numerous leaders and supporters to the Chase County 4-H Program.
    Each year, Outstanding Exhibit Hall Awards are given to individuals who excel in different project areas.  These awards are based the individual giving a presentation on the county level, competing in a judging event and they must also exhibit at the county fair in the area of the award.
    Morayah Cupp was awarded the Outstanding Project Trophy for her Swine Project.  The award is sponsored by 21st Century, LLC.  
    Receiving carcass incentive from the County Fair included:
Market Lamb—Grand Champion, Taylor Jablonski; Reserve Champion, Kendall Prior.
Market Hog—Grand Champion, Myla Brown; Reserve Champion, Shaylee Heathers
Market Beef—Grand Champion, Morayah Cupp; Reserve Champion, Ashley Bubak.
    Carcass Contest Sponsors were 21st Century Equipment, LLC, NKC Veterinary Services, Large’s Cattle Services, Wayne & Chris Krausnick, Rex & Amy Prior, Chrisman Cattle Services, Inc.-Travis and Kelly Chrisman,, Maddux Feeds-Mike Maddux and Family; Scott and Linda Clements, Imperial Beef and Jerry Wood.
    Members completing Horse levels were Jesse Krausnick, Level II; Jerzee Milner, Level II; Tessa Little, Level I
    A big part of 4-H is giving back to the community through community service projects.  The following Chase County 4-H Clubs were recognized for their community service efforts:
Chase County All Stars—Worked the Movie Theatre, Sponsored three Booths at the 4-H Carnival, Painted the women’s restroom at the Fairgrounds.
Challengers—Pumpkin Patch hot dog booth, Adopt a Highway litter pick up, Shoe Box Christmas Project, Kiddy Corral at Chase County Fair, Chase County Fair picnic area, Regan Gittlein Benefit, 4-H Barn and Building Words of Wisdom, McCoullough Fitting Clinic, Vision of Trees Christmas Tree donation, Chase County Fair Display.
    The Nebraska 4-H Diamond Clover Program is designed to encourage 4-H youths to engage in a variety of projects and activities that will enable members to acquire the life skills necessary to lead successful lives as competent, caring and contributing citizens.  The program’s overall goal is to provide 4-H members a rich and diverse learning experience.
    Youth completing levels were:
Amethyst—Jayme Gittlein, Sophia Goings, Amber Tuller.
Aquamarine—JD Tuller.
Emerald—Ashley Grassia.
    The Nebraska 4-H Foundation sponsors the Friend of 4-H, Outstanding Alumni and Outstanding Member awards.  Chase County 4-H Council selects local recipients and presents these awards annually.
    Friend “Heart” of 4-H: Grant Pack, Justin and Christina Coats.
    Outstanding Alumni: David and Rita Hogsett
