Students on parade in costume getups

K-4 students at Chase County Schools put on a colorful and fun costume parade Tuesday afternoon as they celebrated a favorite holiday, Halloween. Some of the characters caught on camera as they parade through the Longhorn gym include, top, fourth grader Noah Rau, who stirred some hunger pangs with his taco costume. Next, what’s a parade without waving? Kindergarten cowgirl Hayden Fowler waves to her family, followed by fellow cowboy Canton Skomp. Third grader Alex Nelson, below, let his ventriloquist buddy do the talking, while second grade Paige Owens indicates she’s available to help as Wonder Woman, marching with other members of her class Allyssa Davis and Landon Johnson, pictured bottom. There was no pumpkin decorating contest this year. K-4 Principal Becky Owens noted elementary students worked on pumpkin decorating in art class with Carolina Ramos this year. Pumpkins were on display in the cafeteria for viewing. PTO purchased the pumpkins for the student decorating. (Johnson Publications photos)
