It’s spooks, ghouls at EMS Haunted House

It’s that time of year again when members of Imperial EMS transform the city gym into a haunted house.
The dates and times for the haunted house this year are Oct. 28 and 30 from 7-10 p.m., and Oct. 31 from 6:30-10 p.m.
The theme will be “Pat’s Haunted Parlor” in honor of Pat Hammel.
The EMS Haunted House was Hammel’s brainchild over 15 years ago. She provides most of the props and materials that go into creating the haunted house.
Deb Hayes, EMS President, said the haunted house is bigger and creepier this year with a few more surprises.
The EMS Haunted House has been a yearly fundraising event, with proceeds going toward a $500 scholarship for a high school senior, $250 scholarship for a non-traditional student and additional proceeds to go toward the cost of individuals taking the EMT class at Mid-Plains Community College.
Last year, over $900 was paid toward student costs to attend EMT and CPR classes.
The cost of admission will be $2 for ages four and under; $4 for ages 5-12; and $5 for ages 13 and up.
There will be $1 taken off the price of admission with a canned good for the food pantry.
