Steven Vern Land

Steven Vern Land’s big ole’ heart just gave up on Sept. 28, 2017 at University Hospital Medical Center of Denver, Colo. He was 54. He was born Nov. 29, 1962 in Callaway, Neb.   Steve was the sixth child and third son born to Charles and Vivian Land; he made our family complete.
He lived in Imperial at the time of his death. Steve enjoyed our community and going to Triple O for coffee and visiting the guys.
He leaves to miss him his three sons: Cody Christopher of Omaha,  Bowen Steven of Brady and Joey (Kelli) Callahan of Kearney; sisters Linda (David) Oxford of Enders and Bonnie (Ray) Maize of Pierre, S.D.; brother Gary (Diane) of Eddyville; grandchildren Madison, Dawson, Carter and Brinley; nieces and nephews Valerie Arena, Michael ( Stacey) Land, Travis (Toni) Land, Kimberly (Willie) Mohlman, Dave Jr. (Trish) Oxford, Chad (Tara) Oxford and Jenny (Tim) Higgins; special nieces Samantha Oxford and Caraline Rose Higgins; and nephew Destry Oxford, whom he loved so much; special friends Donna Land, Debbie and Don Richert; and many more friends and family.
Preceding Steve in death were his parents Charles and Vivian Land; brother Ronald Charles Land; sister Carol Ann Arena; brother-in-law Vito Arena; and son Will Callahan.
A prayer service was held Oct. 6 at 7 p.m. at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel in Gothenburg. Cremation was chosen. Memorials may be given to the family for funeral expenses.
Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel and Monuments was in charge of arrangements.
