Four county businesses fail recent alcohol compliance checks

Four Chase County businesses sold alcohol to a minor during an alcohol compliance check by the Nebraska State Patrol Friday, Oct. 6.
Cody Thomas, the patrol’s public relations director, said a total of 10 businesses were checked.
What’s unusual, he said, was that all 10 businesses inspected the minor’s ID but still sold liquor to them anyway.
That represents a 40 percent non-compliance rate, he noted.
Businesses checked included convenience stores, liquor stores, and restaurants.
Businesses that sold alcohol to a minor included Broadway Steakhouse, T-Junction and Tequilas Mexican Grill, all in Imperial, and Mr. C’s in Wauneta.
The sale clerk is cited for Procuring Alcohol for a Minor while the business is cited with the Nebraska Liquor Control Commission.
The compliance effort was supported in whole or part by Grant # 93.959 under the SAMHSA Center for Substance  Abuse Prevention, Region II Human Services and the Nebraska DHHS Division of Behavioral Health.
