Pumpkin run, scarecrow contest at Cox’s Pond

Cox’s Ponds will be having a full weekend of activities Oct. 14-15,  from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days. Two of those popular activities will be the annual Pumpkin Run and Scarecrow contest.
    The Pumpkin Run will be on Saturday next weekend, and will begin with pre-registration at 8 a.m. The adult category three-mile run will start at 8:30 a.m.
    The 12 and under youth run will begin at 9:15 a.m. with awards and prizes presented at 10:15 a.m.
    The cost to sign up for the race is $18 for adults before Oct. 14 and $20 the day of the race. Age 13 to 18 is $5 and age 12 and under run free.
    There will be prizes for first place in the adult and youth divisions, and a prize for best costume. Coordinator Jill Moline said that costumes are highly encouraged.
    Entry forms can be picked up at Imperial Super Foods, Pinnacle Bank and Platinum.

Scarecrow contest
    The scarecrow contest will have two categories, adult and youth.
    All entries must be in place by 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 12. The judging will take place on Oct. 13.
    There will be a number of other activities over the weekend for all ages to enjoy.
    In case of bad weather, Oct. 21 and 22 have been set aside for re-scheduling the festivities.
