Assisted Living Week keeping Parkview-Heights residents busy

This week is a busy one for residents of Imperial Parkview-Heights assisted living facility in Imperial.
The theme for this year’s Assisted Living Week is “Family is Forever.” Sherri Burke, assisted living manager, said that all the residents and staff feel like family.
The facility staff planned a full slate of activities for residents to help celebrate this nationally-recognized week.
As one of the events this past Tuesday, 18 residents enjoyed a sack lunch at Campbell Park in Imperial.
Burke and Cindy Hudson, activities aide, added to the outing with a frisbee toss and a fun discussion on where everyone went to grade school. Hudson said they all had a pleasant time reminiscing of school days past.
Events scheduled the rest of the week include a Belgium waffle breakfast today (Thursday) and bowling in the Manor dining room in the afternoon.
On Friday there will be a Vaudeville show at 2 p.m. with ice cream sundaes served. This event is open to the public for participation.
Saturday will be the final day of Assisted Living Week with a barn dance at 2 p.m.
