North Platte man takes People’s Choice at Car Nutz Cruize-in

    A 1963 Chevorlet Impala SS owned by Allen Janas of North Platte was selected as  the People’s Choice best in show at the 13th annual Car Nutz Cruize-In held Saturday, Aug. 19, during the Chase County Fair.
    Winning the Club’s Choice award was Pettie Harkins of Goodland, Kan., with her 1950 Ford custom two door.
    Class winners were chosen in categories based on the cars’ ages and there was a separate class for owners under 21. Awards were also given for best interior, paint, engine and rat rod.  
Class A (Pre 1948)
Top 4 Winners—Fred Hoffman, Imperial, 1946 Ford sedan two door; Elden Fisher, North Platte, 1948 Chevorlet Fleetmaster; Dan Wallin, Grant, 1930 Chevorlet four door sedan; Black Stegman, Oshkosh, 1937 Chevorlet sedan.
Class B (1949-1963)
Top 5 Winners—John and Carol Merksick, North Platte, 1954 Chevrolet Delivery sedan; Allen Janas, North Platte, 1963 Chevrolet Impala SS; Nick Merksick, North Platte, 1954 Chevorlet BelAir; Jim and Erlene Coghill, Ogallala, 1956 Chevorlet BelAir.
