Pool on schedule to open Memorial Day
School is out, and the dreams of enjoying water slides, jumping off diving boards and basking in the sun are quickly becoming a reality.
The Imperial pool is opening this Monday, May 29. Drew Ahlers will return once again as pool manager with Chelsea Zuege, Cheyanne Kuhlmann and Taylar Nickless as assistant managers.
This year’s lifeguards are Jasmine Laird, Kaylee Meeske, Taylin McNair, Ryelee Christensen, Sophie Spady, Landis Beverly, Madison Schuller, Kaley Hauxwell, Andrea Page, Kadyn Milner, Brooklyn Christensen, Will Kuenne, Hunter Bartels, Tagan Mays, Noah Griffin, Ragan Nickless, Adelaide Maxwell, Kalen Wallin, Charlie Carter and Gabby Krutsinger.
The pool’s regular hours are Monday through Sunday 1-5 p.m. Night swimming will begin June 5, Monday through Thursday from 7-9 p.m.
Session one swimming lessons is set for June 19-30 and session two lessons July 17-28. As of June 1 registrations for all lessons will be available at the pool during normal hours.
Because each session has a maximum limit of students, once each level of one session is filled people must register for a different session. There is a $20 fee for all swimming lessons.
Water aerobics, $35 for an entire summer or $4 per session, will also be offered beginning June 5 from 8:30-9:45 a.m. and 5:30-6:30 p.m. No children will be allowed on pool premises during aerobics. During swimming lessons, the evening aerobic session will be from 6:30-7 p.m.
Lap swimming, $25 for a pass, will be available starting June 5 at 5:30-6:30 p.m. or 6:30-7 p.m. during swimming lessons. A fitness pass is $40.
A family ticket, which includes immediate family only, is $100. Single tickets are $50, however a babysitter, 14 years old or older, may be added to a family or single pass for an additional $10.
The daily price for 12 year olds and older is $4 and 11 year olds and younger is $3.
A pool party rate is $25 per hour, a two hour limit, plus $7 per hour per lifeguard. There must be one lifeguard for every 10 people.
There will be no refunds issued for any pass or swimming lesson.
With lifeguards’ discretion, temperatures must be a minimum of 70 degrees for the pool to open. All children six and under must be accompanied by someone 14 or older.
