National Day of Prayer draws group to courthouse steps

About 25 area residents were up early last Thursday and on the Chase County Courthouse steps, where they participated in the 66th annual observance of the National Day of Prayer. Led by four local pastors, the group prayed for government, the military, the media, businesses, education, the church and family. The mission of the National Day of Prayer is to mobilize prayer in America and to encourage personal repentance and righteousness in the culture. Prior to the prayer at the courthouse, the group gathered for rolls and coffee at St. Patrick’s Parish Hall. (Johnson Publications photo)
