Students invited to apply for Lions Leadership Camp

Students currently in grades 5-7 at Chase County Schools are eligible to apply for this summer’s Youth Leadership Camp sponsored by the Nebraska Lions. The camp will be held July 9-11 at Camp Halsey.
Locally, the Imperial Lions Club will award at least two scholarships to CCS students, which will provide the $75 registration fee. A determination on scholarships will depend on number of applications received, said Imperial Lion Angie Worth.
Middle school students received information on the camp at CCS the past week. Camp and scholarship applications are due by Friday, Feb. 24.
The Lions Youth Leadership Camp (LYLC) is filled with on-site experiences, hands-on exercises and workshops that bring leadership concepts to life, while the campers work together to grow themselves in ways that will benefit their homes and communities.
Activities at LYLC are designed to challenge, teach and focus on building teamwork, trust, confidence, communication, problem-solving, practical knowledge, all while providing adventure, recreation and fun.
Among the activities available include a group team building Challenge/TRUST Course, zipline, climbing wall, rappelling, archery, and aquatic sports including canoeing, tanking, kayaking, tubing and a waterslide.
Parents with questions can contact Angie Worth at 308-883-0564.
