Input from residents focus of skatepark info meeting; design company to attend

Funds have been earmarked for the design work. Now it’s time for some community input.
A group of young, enthusiastic skateboarders have been busy fundraising for several months for a skatepark in Imperial. While they may have some designs of their own in mind, the entire community will have the chance to give input on a potential skatepark when the president of a design firm is in Imperial next week.
Nate Bemo, president of American Ramp Company in Joplin, Mo., will be here next Thursday, Feb. 9, for a community meeting. The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. in the city council chambers. A presentation with pictures of skateparks the company has designed is on the agenda. Also, Bemo will explain what a skatepark is and what it is not.
