The Imperial Volunteer Fire Department responded to flames in a corn field south of Nutrien Ag, just east of Imperial. With winds gusting around 30 mph, the flames were crossing the picked corn field at a rapid pace. It only took about 20 minutes for IVFD to contain the fire. Crews stayed on site cooling hot spots until a disk arrived and covered the burnt area.
