In a press release from the Chase County Sheriff’s Office, on Saturday August 23, at approximately 4:37 p.m., a call came into the Chase County Sheriff’s Office, Imperial Volunteer Fire Dept., Chase County EMS, Wauneta Volunteer Fire Dept. and the Wauneta EMS, of a report of a two vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 6 and 732 Road near Enders, Nebraska.
Upon investigation, it was determined that a 2017 Chrysler 300, driven by Hanna Jameson of Imperial, Ne., was traveling eastbound on Highway 6 when a 2010 Buick Lacrosse, driven by Angelica Chavez of Benkelman, Ne., entered the Highway from the Enders Recreational Area, traveling westbound.
According to statements, the driver of the Chrysler observed the Buick at the stop sign and attempted to slow down, but was unable to avoid a collision when the Buick pulled onto the roadway.
The Chrysler struck the Buick on the rear driver’s side door, resulting in the door being torn from the vehicle. An eight year old female passenger in the Buick was ejected from the vehicle.
She was initially transported to Chase County Hospital and subsequently flown to Omaha for advanced medical treatment. A 10 year old female passenger, along with both drivers, were transported to Chase County Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by the Chase County Sheriff’s Office.
