Sheriff’s make arrest

On the night of April 11, 2025, the Chase County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an ongoing assault happening in rural Chase County.
The reporting party advised that there was an alleged firearm involved and that the male subject was trying to get a female to get into his vehicle, a gold colored Jeep Cherokee with no plates, with him at gunpoint.
Sargent Justin Mueller was first to arrive on scene and performed a felony stop on the Jeep as it was attempting to leave. Sargeant Mueller was able to detain the male driver identified as Christopher Weiss of Imperial.
Once Deputy Rob Rusk and Deputy Rob Browning arrived on scene, the deputies contacted the other individuals that were there at the time of the incident.
During the investigation, it was discovered that Weiss allegedly brandished a firearm, made threats, assaulted the female victim and tried getting the victim to leave with him in his jeep.
Weiss was arrested and booked into the Chase County Jail on the following charges: Domestic Assault, Terroristic threats, Use of a Firearm to commit a Felony and False Imprisonment, 1st. Degree.
Weiss’ bond was set at $500,000.00-10% and is still currently housed in the jail facility.
