CCS graduate temporarily stranded in flooded area

Scott Parker of Waterloo, son of Imperial resident Sue Moore, met with Vice President Mike Pence, Gov. Ricketts and other political leaders on Tuesday during Pence’s visit to see the flood  damage in eastern Nebraska.
Parker and his wife Phyllis, also an Imperial native, live on a lake outside of Waterloo and west Omaha.
Their property was not damaged during the floods, even though they live “not even half a mile” from the Elkhorn River.
The lake that the Parkers live on has a levy around it that was not compromised as of Wednesday.
Some of the other houses on the lake did have issues.
