Reaching the NCAA tournament for the first time in 12 years and advancing to the Sweet 16 capped off a stellar season for the University of Nebraska-Kearney women’s basketball team.
Imperial’s Mallie McNair was a red shirt freshman on the team, and will have four years of eligibility to use as a Loper team member going forward.
The Loper women finished 23-4 on the season, which was also highlighted by their Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association Tournament championship.
The UNK women finished the year ranked 9th and 10th in the NCAA Division II Top 25 polls.
McNair, a 2020 graduate of Chase County Schools, set a new career scoring record during her four years as a Lady Longhorn with 1,341 points.
She also holds CCS records for most points per game (36) and points scored in a season (455).
