Youths organize Giving Tree to help others at Christmas

Logan and Ginny Siverson and Grayson Owens have been discussing how they wanted to give back to the community by helping area children to receive Christmas gifts.
With help from Logan and Ginny’s mom, Tammy, they came up with the idea of a Giving Tree where children’s information will be placed on a foam ornament and hung on a Christmas tree.
The privacy of each child will be secured by simply listing a number for that particular child with his or her needs hung on the Giving Tree.
The tree is set up in the lobby of Hayden Outdoors on Highway 61.
Area churches are contributing children’s names to put on the tree.
People who would like to be a part of this project can select one or more foam ornaments on the Giving Tree to buy a present for a child.
The ornaments will be available to the public beginning Nov. 22, said Tammy Siverson.
The gifts must be brought back to Hayden Outdoors by Dec. 15 in time to be distributed by churches.
Leave gifts unwrapped
Siverson asks that the Christmas gifts be returned unwrapped because the kids want to wrap them themselves.
“Be sure to return the foam ornament with each child’s information and assigned number with the gift to identify who the gift goes to,” said Siverson.

Logan, Ginny and Grayson hope by doing this it can make Christmas better for these families, they said.
