Wheeler family reunion

    Descendants of the Walter and Laura Wheeler family gathered for a family reunion at the Rice Lodge in Odell, Nebraska July 22-24.
    Memories were shared, musical talents were enjoyed, games played and good food was enjoyed by all.
    Representatives from six of the Wheeler’s 11 children were in attendance. They included:
Opal’s family—Joyce Page and Susan Steider-Page of Lincoln
Velma’s family—Bob and Edna Crawford of Albequerque, New Mexico
Marvel’s family—Gloria and Ron Patrick of Grant, Ilene Wieder of Littleton, Colorado, Jenifer Wieder of Littleton Colorado, Dave and Kathy Cook of Lamar
Gerald’s family—Barbara Wheeler of Surf City, New Jersey
Wesley’s family—Rod and Joy Wheeler of Wauneta
LaDene’s family—Bob and Colleen McClelland of Beatrice, Eric McClelland of Lincoln, Julie, Jered, Micha, Madison, Isaac and Evelyn Jochum of Beatrice, Jennie Catlett of Lincoln
Guest—Rene Carrillo of Lincoln

    The reunion ended on Sunday morning with a worship service. Sheryl Dinklage played, (via phone), the piano piece “God Be With You Until We Meet Again.” This was in honor of Grandpa Walter Wheeler, who always had visiting families gather around the piano to sing this blessing before departing for their homes.
