On March 31, 2025, at approximately 4:18 pm, The Chase County Sheriff’s Dispatch responded to multiple 911 calls reporting a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of 314 Ave. and 742 Rd. Emergency crews, including the Imperial Fire Department, Chase County Ambulance and the Chase County Sheriff’s Office responded.
Upon investigation, it was determined that a 2022 Ford F350, driven by Terry Anderson, 60, of Holyoke Colorado, was traveling southbound on 314 Ave., while a 2015 Chevrolet Impala, driven by Julie Pflum, 52, of Lamar, Nebraska, was heading eastbound on 742 Rd.
The two vehicles collided at the intersection. Initial findings suggest that the driver of the Ford F350 failed to yield at the intersection, where a yield sign was in place.
Tragically, the driver of the Chevrolet Impala, Julie Pflum, was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation remains ongoing, and a report will be submitted to the Chase County Attorney for further review, including consideration of potential charges.
The Chase County Sheriff extends its condolences to the family and loved ones of Julie Pflum during this difficult time.
Terry Anderson was taken by ambulance to the Chase County Community Hospital, where he was later airlifted out with head and neck injuries.
