Two Mondays left for local COVID testing

Several weeks ago, Chase County Community Hospital (CCCH) became an approved site for free COVID testing by TestNebraska.
There are only two more Mondays to get a free COVID test whether symptoms are present or not.
CCCH staff members are manning the collection site at the Imperial EMS building from 7-9 a.m. on Dec. 21 and 28, said Linda Nelson, respiratory therapist at the hospital.
“We have been averaging 12-20 people each Monday with the first Monday being the largest number at 24,” Nelson said.
It is best if people wanting tested get an appointment at  TestNebraska.com or call 402-207-9377 for assistance.
“We encourage people to take advantage of this free testing. We will be honoring people who don’t have an appointment to come and get tested these last two Mondays. Bring your driver’s license and come early,” Nelson said.
The first of the year, CCCH staff will be re-examining the frequency of people attending the free testing for TestNebraska, she said.
“We will then make a decision how often TestNebraska will hold free testing days in Imperial in the future,” said Nelson.
To follow updates and testing notices, visit the TestNebraska website where information will be posted.
“And note that the clinic (Chase County Family Clinic) continues daily testing for symptomatic patients. Be sure to call ahead to be tested,” she said.
