Thompson headed to District Court in high-speed chase case

Tevin Thompson, the Centralia, Missouri man arrested after a high-speed chase through Chase County, has been bound over to District Court.
Thompson, 30, appeared in Chase County Court March 22 before Judge Edward Steenburg on four charges related to the incident March 3-4.
Thompson, represented by court-appointed attorney Leslie Nordhausen, waived his right to a preliminary hearing.
Steenburg informed Thompson his next hearing would be before Judge Patrick Heng in  District Court.
Thompson faces four charges, two of them felonies for terroristic threats and use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony.
He is also charged with two misdemeanors—operating a motor vehicle to avoid arrest and willful reckless driving.
After Thompson was chased by authorities starting in Phillips County, Colorado March 3, he entered Chase County, eventually crashing his vehicle and leaving the scene on foot.
After walking an estimated 5 miles, he allegedly threatened Larry and Linda Rose in their rural Enders home with a knife, then was arrested later after leaving the house.
After a check of his vehicle during the incident, it was discovered by authorities that Thompson was wanted in Missouri on two felony warrants for stalking and failure to appear.
Thompson’s $200,000 bond was continued, and he remains in the Chase County Jail.
