A new pastor, vicar serving at Zion Lutheran Church

In recent days, Zion Lutheran Church in Imperial gained both a new pastor and vicar.
Rev. Scott Adle was installed in a special ceremony Sunday as the church’s new pastor, attended by a host of pastors from area churches, in addition to Zion’s newest vicar, Brandon Sullivan.
Pastor Adle replaces Rev. David Kahle, who moved to Gardner, Kansas earlier this year to serve another church as pastor.
Adle calls North Platte his home
Adle attended North Platte High School, then traveled to Seward, attending Concordia University. After, he continued on to Sidney’s Western Nebraska Community College for more education.
He said he loved seminary, and loves learning about God, which is why he wanted to become a pastor.
Adle comes to Imperial from Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Collinville, Illinois, where he served as their associate pastor.
In Imperial, he wants to baptize, preach the Word of God and help people grow in the faith.
Adle is married to Rosie, with whom he shares six children—James, Maria, John, Joel, Eudora and Grace.
At Sunday’s installation, Rev. James Moshier of Trinity Lutheran in Arapahoe served as the officiant with Imperial Zion’s new vicar Brandon Sullivan as crucifer.
Other area Lutheran ministers in attendance were Rev. Justin Hildebrand, St. John’s, Ash Creek; Rev. James Peterson, St. John’s, Curtis; Rev. Jon Dickmander, St. John’s Evangelical, Brule; Rev. Albert Bader, St. John’s, Ogallala; Rev. Jonathan Oetting, Shepherd of the Hills, Hyannis; Rev. Keith Wellman, St. Paul’s, Wauneta; Rev. Michael Heckman, Zion Lutheran, Grant; Rev. Daniel Ramsey, Our Redeemer, North Platte; Rev. Micah Gaunt, Peace Lutheran, Hastings; and Rev. Timothy Hahn, Immanuel Lutheran, Haxtun, Colorado.
The installation was celebrated with prayer, song, Zion’s English handbells, music from the senior and junior choir, trumpet accompaniment by James and Rosie Adle, cello accompaniment by Amber Grosbach and cantor Joel Grosbach.
Vicar Brandon Sullivan
Newly-arrived Vicar Brandon Sullivan was raised by his parents along with a sister. In Minnesota, his father is also a pastor.
He has been married to Leslie for 12 years. Together, they have three children—Talley, Alfred and Jack.
He played football at North Dakota State his freshman year of college, then transferred to Concordia University in St. Paul, Minnesota, where he also played football for four years.
Sullivan decided to become a pastor after experimenting with various professions. He enjoys studying the Bible, building relationships with people and serving the church.
That’s why he wanted to become a pastor, he said.
He has completed two years of seminary and will serve his vicarage for the next year at Zion in Imperial. He will then travel to Wayne, Indiana to complete his seminary studies.
Sullivan wants to get involved, learn, help and take care of tasks in Imperial.
