Manor, Parkview-Heights has new administrator

The Imperial city council met Monday night and approved the hiring of Lynne West as the new administrator for Imperial Manor and Parkview-Heights.
She will begin the position on Sept. 7, and replaces Eric Haider, who announced last month that he was retiring.
West has currently been overseeing eight senior living facilities in three states. She is a registered nurse licensed in Nebraska.
She will be completing the nursing home administrator exam in the very near future.
“I am very excited for this opportunity. I have met some great people who work at the Manor as well as family members of the residents,” West said.
West is originally from upstate New York and has been living in Florida for 20 years.
She and her two children moved to Imperial in December last year.
“My son will be a senior this year at Chase County Schools, and my daughter is attending Mid-Plains Community College,” she said.
West is engaged to Shawn Jaeger, the Foundation and Marketing Coordinator at Chase County Community Hospital.
West was offered the position by the senior services board at its meeting Aug. 9. City Attorney Josh Wendell suggested approval by the council, as well.
The senior services board negotiated a starting salary for West of $112,000 and will increase that to $115,000 when she successfully gains her administrator’s certificate, according to their meeting minutes.
Quarterly evaluations of West will be done over the next year, coming with successive salary increases to the point of a $126,000 salary at the end of one year.
Four applications for the position were received, and three were interviewed according to City Administrator Jo Leyland. One applicant withdrew.
Doug Gaswick, both a council and senior services board member, said West’s salary was negotiated, adding she’s very qualified for the job.
Margie Haider resigns
After just filling the administrator’s position, senior services board members learned they will now have to search for a new Director of Nursing for the Manor and Parkview-Heights.
Current DON Margie Haider submitted her resignation last week and will be leaving Sept. 12.
Margie is the wife of Manor and Parkview-Heights CEO Eric Haider. Margie Haider was hired in April 2017, a month after her husband became CEO.
Eric Haider said Wednesday the couple will be moving to Missouri, where his wife has accepted a position with a non-profit nursing home. The move will put them closer to their home and farm and closer to their children, too, he said.
Once his wife had officially resigned, Haider said he then submitted his official resignation.
Haider, 70, said he plans to retire, and is happy the senior services board has a new administrator on board.
