Madrid man jailed after arrest for trespassing

    A man from Madrid was arrested Saturday night at the Chase County Fair for criminal trespassing.
    That was just one of the incidents law officers handled during a busy week at the fairgrounds in Imperial.
    Isaias Perez, 20, was initially escorted out of the Scotty McCreery/Ernest concert Saturday night when security personnel asked law officers to remove him, said Imperial Police Sgt. Chad Ostmeyer.
    Perez then was able to reenter the concert unseen. Ostmeyer said security officers inside spotted him again, and asked police officers to remove him again, which they did.

    Ostmeyer said as they were walking him out, the second time, he tried to pull away so was taken to the ground and arrested. Ostmeyer and Sheriff’s Deputy Duncan Einspahr placed him in a police car.
    He was taken to the Chase County Jail and booked for criminal trespassing, Ostmeyer said.
    According to county dispatch records, Perez’s bond was set at $2,500. He posted the required 10% and was released shortly afterwards.
    He will appear for arraignment in Chase County Court Sept. 28. The case continues to be investigated, said Police Chief Ryan Wisnieski.
    At Monday’s city council meeting, Wisnieski gave a report of their activities at the fair and throughout town last week.
    In addition to the trespassing arrest, they dealt with 10-15 parking issues, one MIP citation and answered calls for three lost children, “all who were found fairly quickly,” he said.
    They also assisted with a child locked in a vehicle and helped EMS with a medical issue in the grandstand, he said.
    With an estimated 20,000 people on the grounds throughout fair week, and well-attended concerts, Wisnieski said he was happy with the work of his officers.
