Kids’ pedal pull always a big attraction at fair
It never loses its audience appeal—the kids’ pedal tractor pull at the Chase County Fair.
The 2022 edition Aug. 12 was no different as nearly 150 youths age 4-12 competed in age groups for boys and girls. At the end, several adults tried their best in the adult division.
First place in each of the youth division earned a $25 Visa gift card. All first, second and third place finishers were awarded medals, and qualified for the Nebraska State Fair pedal pull.
Bruce and Cindy Ash of Arcadia own Mid-Nebraska Pedal Pullers, which has been coming to the Chase County Fair for this competition more than 25 years, she said.
Cindy Ash said CCF is probably the best-attended pull they have each year.
Pivot Electric of Imperial sponsors the kids’ pedal pull, and provided the gift cards and all medals.
The fair board gave cash prizes to the top three in the adult divisions.
Here are the age group results in order of placing:
Four-year-olds—Girls: Presley Moser, Kimber Large, Claire Leibbrandt; Boys: Carson Dirks, Otto Vlasin, Alex Fortkamp.
Five-year-olds—Girls: Penelope Wenzlick, Audra Gaswick, Madelynn Lambert; Boys: Grady Fowler, Wyatt Smith, Leo Schultz.
Six-year-olds—Girls: Clara Davis, Josie Sauder, Sadie Tropf; Boys: Max Fanning, Myles Aeby, Will McCoy.
Seven-year-olds—Girls: Sophie Fortkamp, Marti Fanning, Reese Smith; Boys: Dakota Hubbard, Tannen McCleskey, Taylor Fortkamp.
Eight-year-olds—Girls: Sadie Dirks, Sadie Sauder, Leah Lambert; Boys: Hunter Greene, Silas Burke, Levi Ambrosek.
Nine-year-olds—Girls: Violet Rose Sinclair, Annie Reichert, Harper McNair; Boys: Andrew Fortkamp, Robert Leeling, Jason Fortkamp.
Ten-year-olds—Girls: Danyelle Martin, Anna McNair, Bernadette Greene; Boys: Canton Skomp, Barrett Riener, Cohen Lambert.
Eleven-year-olds—Girls: Jordyn Stafford, Kya Applegarth, Edison Teply; Boys: Daniel Hubbard, Tatum May, Kenton Doetker.
Twelve-year-olds—Boys: Liam Dinnel, Brody Beckman, Forest Greene. No girls competed.
Adults—Women: Jnel Hubbard, Alexis Tropf, Makala Bartels; Men: Levi Leeling, Cody Prosser, Jaret Peterson.
