Investigation ongoing in Krausnick shooting

Nebraska State Patrol investigators continue to gather information on the shooting death of Jesse Krausnick, 19, of Imperial on Thanksgiving night.
Four investigators with the Patrol’s Investigative Services Office are working the case, said J.J. Connelly, an ISO team member in Troop D in North Platte.
Connelly said Tuesday they have not yet turned over any reports to Chase County Attorney Arlan Wine, and had no idea when they would be finished investigating.
“We are still in the middle of it,” he said, as they wait for information to come in.
Connelly said an autopsy on Krausnick was done in Scottsbluff as part of the investigation.
Tristan Ferguson, 19, of Imperial was taken into custody by Imperial police at the scene Nov. 24.
He was charged with manslaughter, use of a weapon to commit a felony, unlawful discharge of a firearm, procuring or selling alcohol to a minor, being a minor misrepresenting age to obtain liquor and acts declared unlawful-license/driving.
Ferguson bonded out of the Chase County Jail mid-afternoon Nov. 25 after posting the 10% of his $100,000 bond.
When officers arrived on scene of the shooting at 126 West 12th Street, Krausnick was located with a gunshot wound and transported by Imperial EMS to the Chase County Community Hospital, but passed away shortly after arrival.
Ferguson will be arraigned in Chase County Court in January. A date has not been set.
