Imperial Berean Church hosting Christmas dinner

On Christmas day, the Imperial Berean Church is hosting a community meal for the town. As part of the local Ministerial Association, it is the Berean Church’s turn to host this event. The address is 1530 Broadway St. for those who wish to attend.
The meal will be held on Christmas day from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The meal will consist of roast turkey and ham. The sides will include sweet potatoes, rolls, and stuffing, along with various salads and pies. Pastor Matt Maxwell said, “It takes a lot of effort with the churches to put on these events and it is always a great opportunity for the community to do some good.”
On a personal note: Before I moved here, my mother hosted Thanksgiving at her bakery and opened it to the town. She wanted to use this as a way to celebrate my grandmother, who died from an aggressive form of dementia earlier this year. My grandmother had always loved cooking elaborate meals for the holiday. So, the fact that the churches of this town do something so similar really touched my heart and I am grateful for that.
