Imperial artists show their talents at Grant gallery

Five Imperial artists displayed their talents this month at the Meadowlark Gallery in Grant, and met the public at an open house reception Saturday.
Work from artists Armando Villarreal, Marcia Bauerle, Bobbie Hust, Chelsea Zuege and Danny Lenners was displayed during September.
Danny Lenners, a retired teacher and coach at Chase County Schools, brought a number of his watercolor paintings for display, including a field of sandhill cranes and a field of dreams.
Chelsea Zuege, CCS art instructor, showed her black and cream pottery, which she created just for the Meadowlark show.
Bobbie Hust is an animal portrait painter. She displayed a selection of watercolors including one of family dogs and a loving mare and her colt.
Marcia Bauerle is an award-winning mixed media artist. Her colorful and detailed Icon collection was shown.
Armando Villarreal is known for his college and NFL team football helmets, as well as his airbrush paintings of sports figures, and his work was hung at the show.
Dik Haneline, a former CCS art teacher who taught several of the artists with work displayed, attended the open house Saturday.
Meadowlark Gallery and the Perkins County Area Arts Council is located in downtown Grant, and has presented a new artist/artists every month since 2003.
The gallery’s October show will feature photographer Brian Stephenson of Alliance. He is the father of Perkins County art teacher Tristan Stephenson. Stephenson will meet the public Friday, Oct. 7, at the gallery’s open house.
