Hospital, clinics looking to fill two provider positions here

Advertising has started to replace a pair of Advanced Practice Providers at Chase County Community Hospital and clinics.
Nicole Havel, a Physician’s Assistant, and Brandy Hanes, Nurse Practitioner, both have resigned, said Hospital CEO Abby Cyboron.
Havel’s last day was Aug. 11, after working here just shy of five years, Cyboron said.
Hanes will continue working until Sept. 6 after 13 years with the healthcare facilities.
Cyboron said both Havel and Hanes chose to leave for personal reasons.
“Both of them had amazing practices with our healthcare system and were involved in the community,” she said.
“We wish them nothing but the best.”
For the remainder of the year, the hospital will be using locum tenens to cover for Havel and Hanes, she said.
Cyboron said letters have been sent to all of Hanes’ patients who list her as their primary care provider, informing them of her departure. A letter is in the works to do the same for Havel’s patients.
She said the hospital staff will access any needed medical records that their patients wish forwarded to other providers.
Cyboron said local residents need not panic.
“It’s okay, things change all the time and we are working through it,” she said.
Cyboron said change in personnel, unfortunately, is the “new norm,” as employees aren’t staying in jobs as long as previous generations.
She said the hospital board hopes to fill both positions left open by the resignations.
She emphasized they have three family physicians and a physician’s assistant continuing to serve the hospital and clinics in Imperial and Wauneta.
They include family practice physicians Drs. David Younger, Kayla Luhrs and James Kerr, along with Physician’s Assistant Jodi Spady.
