Beaches and the reservoir were much emptier than a typical Memorial Day weekend at Enders Lake.
Holiday numbers at lake not too bad despite cool weather
Memorial Day weekend at Enders Lake is usually a mass of campers and lake activity.
This past weekend, Mother Nature decided to keep temperatures on the chillier side.
Even though the temps did affect the lake-going crowds somewhat, the camper registrations at the electrical sites were 83% full, said Beau Licking, park superintendent for Enders Lake Recreation Area.
“The primitive camping sites could have been busier, though. We only had 45-50 registrations as compared to normally 75-80, but attendance was good considering the weather,” Licking said.
“There was about an inch and a half or so of rain over the weekend,” he added, “but it was still a pretty good weekend with a decent crowd and lake activity.”
It was quiet with no complaints, issues or game warden citations, he said.
“I think the weather kept everyone behaved,” he laughed
