Grant will fund 3D printer at Lied Imperial Public Library

The Nebraska Library Commission awarded Library Improvement Grants for 2022 totaling $332,471 to 74 Nebraska public libraries, a library consortium and a state-run institutional library.
Among the recipients were libraries in Imperial and Grant.
The Lied Imperial Public Library received a $5,672 grant for a MakerBot 3D printer and supplies.
Library Director Beth Falla said the 3D printer has arrived. Due to shipping issues, an upgraded projector and HoverCam, also provided through the grant, are still on their way.
The Hastings Memorial Library in Grant gained a $6,500 grant, which will purchase book bike, laptop and mobile hotspot.
The grants help to facilitate growth and development of library programs and services in Nebraska, officials said.
In order to be funded, projects had to meet one or more criteria.
As the state library agency, the Nebraska Library Commission is an advocate for the library and information needs of Nebraskans. Their mission is statewide promotion, development and coordination of library and information services, “bringing together people and information.”
