Fun night of fundraising at Casino Night

    Casino Night proceeds bypassed last year, and Shawn Jaeger recognizes that as a sign of growing support for Chase County Community Hospital and its mission.
    Saturday night’s 2nd annual Casino Night brought in $34,000 before expenses, about $8,000 more than the inaugural Casino Night in 2022, according to Jaeger, the hospital’s Foundation and Marketing Director.
    Table sponsorships and open donations were up and that helped considerably, he said. There were 28 sponsors this year.
    “That’s a great indicator of increasing support,” he said.
    An estimated 140 people attended an evening of food, silent auction bidding and game-playing with nine tables and dealers provided by Casino Party USA of Denver.
    Upon arrival, people were provided tickets worth $200 in chips. They had a choice of five blackjack tables, two Texas Hold’em poker tables, along with a craps and roulette table.
    Activity was brisk at most of them during the three hours of game-playing.
    At the end of the playing, chips were turned in for tickets that were entered in a drawing for $2,000 in Chamber Bucks.
    Announcement of Chamber Bucks winners were interspersed with those bidding the highest for 22 silent auction items.
    In all, the silent auction brought in more $4,500, with a Weber Genesis II grill bringing in the most individually at $850.

    All of the centerpieces were also given away in a drawing.
    Jaeger said the foundation plans to continue the Casino Night each year the first weekend in March.
