FFA chapters from Imperial, WP head to state convention

     FFA members at Chase County Schools and Wauneta-Palisade are in Lincoln this week for the Nebraska State FFA Convention.
    They will be part of the 7,000 students from across the state in the capital city for the 95th State FFA Convention.
    Top-placing individuals and teams have the chance to compete at the National Convention in October.
    Pinnacle Bank Arena is headquarters for the convention, although many of the leadership development events and speaking events take place in downtown Lincoln locations.
    From the Imperial chapter, 37 students and nine sponsors are attending.
    Senior members Elizabeth Reeves, Carter Leibbrandt and Peyton Dubas will be receiving the FFA State Degree.

Five from WP earn degrees
Five WP chapter members will receive their State Degrees in Lincoln—Sydnee Acton, Kyle Jutten, Hoyte Holmes, Ryleigh McCrumb and Mandy Sandoval.
Two WP teams will compete in welding, including Derik Kennicutt, Noah Sandman, Sean Manley and Hoyte Holmes; and nursery and landscape, including Grayden Sutherland, Collin Bley, Peyton Cox and GraCee Goings.
Nursery and landscape was second at districts, while welding was fifth.
Junior high Quiz Bowl members are Toria Bley, Ansley Bartels, Kamryn Fanning and Addy Einspahr.
A group of chapter members will also attend the Workshop and Leadership Academy.
In all, 25 WP high schoolers will make the trip to the convention.
While there, the group will also tour Landmark Nursery & Landscape, Sandhills Global and KanEquip.
