Eighteen West Nebraska counties holding candidate roundup Oct. 2

    A group of 18 Nebraska GOP county parties will present a number of Republican candidates to the people of west central Nebraska on Sunday, Oct. 2, in North Platte.
    Lincoln County GOP Chair Carol Friesen engaged leaders in the party in the area to collaborate and invite statewide, regional and district candidates to an informational “meet and greet” at the Best Western Plus, south of I-80 in North Platte.
    The Oct. 2 event will begin at 4 to 7 p.m. CT.
    Organizers have announced they will have gubernatorial Republican candidate and GOP Primary winner Dr. Jim Pillen in attendance.
    The event will also feature other state GOP Primary winners including Secretary of State candidate Bob Evnen, Attorney General candidate, Mike Hilgers and State Treasurer candidate John Murante.
    Counties involved include Arthur, Chase, Cherry, Custer, Dawson, Dundy, Furnas, Grant, Hitchcock, Hooker, Keith, Lincoln, Logan, McPherson, Perkins, Red Willow and Thomas.         “This event is our way to bring a large area of western Nebraska’s voters together to meet the next leaders of our state,” Friesen said.
    Other candidates expected at the event are Elizabeth Tegtmeier,State School Board District 7; Kathy Wilmot for Regent; Chris Bruns, legislative District 42 candidate; and Kevin Stocker, Public Service Commission Candidate.
    Other candidates from legislative Districts 38, 42 and 44 and others may also attend.
