After two and a half years here, Dr. Liz Hatz will be leaving employment at the hospital and clinics when her contract ends Jan. 31.
Abby Cyboron, Chase County Community Hospital CEO, said she wishes Dr. Hatz nothing but the best.
    She said Dr. Hatz resigned.
“Dr. Hatz is an outstanding physician. I am grateful and thankful for the years she provided service here,” Cyboron said.
“She is a great person and a great physician,” she added.
Cyboron said Dr. Hatz is no longer scheduling appointments.
Dr. Hatz started employment at the hospital and clinics in July 2018. She moved here after practicing in Port St. Lucie, Florida.
She received a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, and her MBA in healthcare leadership from Rockhurst University, also in Kansas City. She completed her residency at St. Lucie Medical Center in Florida.
Cyboron said they continue to work on recruiting additional physicians, and have hosted visits from four potential doctors in the last three months—one was a resident and the other three are practicing physicians, she said.
The hospital is also working with the University of Nebraska Medical Center’s resident program, and, in November, engaged a search firm.
“We are actively recruiting family practitioners who also do OB (obstetrics),” Cyboron said.
In the immediate future, she said they have a good lead on a temporary physician they hope to contract with for a specific time frame.
During that time, they will continue to concentrate on recruitment of two family physicians, she said.
Current medical staff at the hospital and clinic include Dr. David Younger, P.A. Nicole Havel, P.A.-C Jodi Spady and APRN Brandy Hanes.
