Chase County Challenge nearing; July 15 event is opportunity to give

The day is nearing for the Chase County Challenge.
The Imperial Community Foundation Fund was able to organize this with the help of sponsors Allo Fiber, Imperial Beef, Imperial Super Foods and Frenchman Valley Coop.
On July 15, 24 hours of giving will begin for anyone who would like to give back to their community.
The ICFF will be matching donations to eligible organizations, up to $25,000.
June 15 was the final day for organizations interested in participating to sign up.
The event will begin at 4 p.m. and will wrap up around 11 p.m.
“For those who can’t make the event, the opportunity to give is extended through Sunday. So it is 24 hours,” ICFF co-chair Tyler Pribbeno said.
Organizations that would like to participate must have a booth at Smokin’ on Broadway on July 15.
Each booth will provide a means for accepting donations from the community.
“There are expectations for our participating organizations including having a booth and presence at Smokin’ on Broadway to discuss with potential donors,” Pribbeno said.
Online donations will not be accepted but any mailed donations will be.
Although only nonprofits are eligible for the matching donations, other organizations are encouraged to participate to raise money.
“They can still raise money, and what they raise for themselves is going to be included in the total amount raised that day,” he said.
“Even though they don’t qualify for the local match, we hope they have a successful fundraising day for them.”
Each organization will have a separate booth where they can share their future plans, projects or ideas.
Donations received will be reported to Doug Gaswick and Joel Gockley from ICFF.
They will be in charge of keeping a running tab of the location of the booth and their total donations received.
“We are hoping to make announcements throughout the Smokin’ on Broadway event about how much we make each hour or a total from time to time,” Pribbeno said, “to let people know all of the good that is happening in front of our eyes.”
ICFF board members are expecting a day full of giving to local organizations.
