CCCH hosts coloring contest for ages 1-12

Throughout the month of February, the Chase County Community Hospital will be hosting a coloring contest for children. Andy Slager, Chase County Community Hospital facility manager, and Mallory Garrett, CNA, are the creators of the contest. The contest was put into place for a couple of reasons, said the duo.
“We realized that when children come to the hospital, that sometimes it is a difficult time for them or their families. Hopefully this activity would bring their fear and anxiety levels down, when visiting the hospital or the doctor,” explained Slager and Garrett.
They also explained that kids are given crayons to use while there, but there was never any paper for them to use with the crayons.
Children ages 1-12 are encouraged to participate in the contest. To enter, pick up a coloring sheet at the front desk of the hospital at 600 West 12th Street and return it no later than Feb. 29. Prizes will be awarded to winners based on their age group—1-3, 4-6, 7-9 and 10-12. For more information visit the hospital in Imperial.
