Area strings group performing at Holyoke finale Sunday

The Phillips County Arts Council will present the fourth and final concert of the 2022-2023 season this Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at the Peerless Theatre in Holyoke, Colorado.
The concert will feature String Fling, a four-piece ensemble from the Lewellen area which formed in March 2021 by bass player Rex Miller.
The group consists of Miller on upright bass; singer/songwriter Mark Jones of Oshkosh on guitar, banjo and vocals; Jacie McConnel from Chappell on violin and vocals; and Joe Hall of Lewellen on mandolin, guitar and vocals.
The group performs a wide variety of music from Jones’ original songs, classic country, folk and Americana songs, and instrumentals featuring McConnel on violin.
String Fling has been the official house band of The Most Unlikely Place, a popular cafe and art gallery in Lewellen since May 2021, performing five dinner shows each year.
The Phillips County Arts Council and the Peerless Theatre have been in discussion for a few years about the idea of hosting an arts council concert at the theatre and are excited the opportunity has presented itself for this performance.
Phillips County Arts Council members will be admitted free with their PCAC season ticket. Tickets for non-members will be available at the door.
Students will be admitted free. Concessions will be available before the concert.
