Annual Easter Egg Hunt is early this year; set for March 23

Nearly 2,000 candy-filled eggs including several hundred with quarters inside await youngsters who attend the Easter Egg Hunt sponsored by the Imperial Lions Club.
With Easter falling on Sunday, March 31, this year, the 2024 hunt also arrives early the weekend before on Saturday, March 23, beginning at 1 p.m. at Imperial’s Campbell Park.
In case of bad weather, the hunt will be moved to Saturday, March 30, also starting at 1 p.m.
Lions members gathered Sunday to fill the eggs with candy and quarters. A total of $80 in quarters were donated by Adams Bank & Trust, Imperial Credit Union, Pinnacle Bank and Waypoint Bank.
The eggs will be distributed in four different areas of the park for four different age groups—toddlers to two-year-olds in playground area by golf course; 3-4-year-olds in the outfield of the baseball diamond; 5-6-year-olds in the area around water tower; and 1st and 2nd graders on the east end of park.
Youths should bring their own collection baskets or bags for the hunt, said Lions President Randy Hayes.
Parking is tight at Campbell Park. All vehicles are asked to enter on West 6th Street on the south side of the park.
Lions members remind parents the hunt will start at 1 p.m. sharp on March 23 so an early arrival is encouraged.
