‘Come home’ theme picked for 2023 Chase County Fair

It may seem a ways off, but plans are well underway for the Chase County Fair and all that comes with it.
Last week, the fair board announced this year’s theme that will encompass all fair events Aug. 13-20, including the parade.
“Come Home to the Chase County Fair” is the theme, said Jake Burke, fair board member who handles tickets and marketing.
It was chosen from one of the hit songs country star headliner Ian Munsick sings, titled “Come Home to You.”
Munsick and special guest Megan Moroney will perform in the ALLO Arena on Saturday, Aug. 19, at the 7:30 p.m. grandstand show.
In recent years, the fair board has chosen its theme from one of the songs sung by a Chase County Fair performer that year.
Burke said as they looked for themes for this year’s fair, one stood out.
“After looking through the artists’ songs this one fit,” he said.
“We all know a lot of people travel here for the fair and events, and what’s more appropriate?” he asked.
Also performing at the 2023 fair on Friday, Aug. 18, is Black Stone Cherry with co-headliner Read Southall Band. That concert also kicks off in the ALLO Arena at 7:30 p.m.
Chris Lee, who with a Chamber of Commerce committee is coordinating the fair parade on Saturday, Aug. 19, said the parade will follow the same theme.
Categories for the parade will be the same as in the past—organizations, business and professional, equestrian, religious and open class/cars.
The parade route starts in front of the Imperial Manor, travels east on 10th Street, then turns south on Broadway for seven blocks.
Tickets for both concerts, as well as the tractor pull and mega-ride passes, are now available on the fair’s website at: chasecountyfair.com.
