Zuege named NCA Boys Track and Field Coach of the Year

Chase County Head Boys Track Coach Carl Zuege was honored as the Nebraska Coaches Association hudl Coach of the Year during the annual NCA conference in July.
Zuege, also the CCS cross country coach, led the Longhorns’ to their first ever boys’ state championship this spring with a Class C Track and Field Championship.
Zuege said the award is just another validation of the work and commitment that CCS athletes and coaches put into their program.
“That award is a tribute to all of the hard work our coaches and athletes did this season. It is humbling to be chosen for something like that -- there are so many great coaches who do a tremendous job but are not fortunate to have the type of athletes we enjoy in our program, so they don’t garner the same kinds of recognition. I am just thankful to everyone who contributes to our program and I was proud to represent our staff and team while receiving the award,” he said.
