WP, Chase County players on football all-district teams

    Area all-district football teams have been announced and include several players from Wauneta-Palisade and Chase County.
    WP seniors Kyle Jutten and Jacksen Littrel, as well as sophomore Grayden Sutherland, have been named to the D6-4 All-District Football Team.
    Littrel is recognized on the first team as a kicker. Littrel is also on the second team as a  defensive lineman.
    Jutten is the running back on the second team offense. Sutherland is on the second team defense as a linebacker/defensive back.
    Arthur County, which was knocked out of the D6 playoffs in the semifinals by Pawnee City, placed five on the first teams and three more on the second teams.
    Arthur County was the second seed in the playoffs. Number one seed, Sumner-Eddyville-Miller, was beaten in the semifinals, as well.
    The Class D6 state championship game between Parkview Christian and Pawnee City will be played Friday at Cope Field on the University of Nebraska-Kearney campus.
    The District C2-8 team was announced Monday.
    CCS seniors Dawson Mollendor and Kade Anderson were joined by junior Tyler O’Neil on the all-district team.
    On the honorable mention list are juniors Jaret Peterson son and Zach Herbert and sophomores Zach Tarin and Thomas Reeves.
    The Class C2 state championship game will be Tuesday at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln.
    Twelfth seeded Cedar Catholic will take on #3 Norfolk Catholic, which beat #2 Ord 38-6 in the semifinals Nov. 11.
    The eight-man state championship games will be unbeated Howells-Dodge against unbeaten Hitchcock County in Class D2 and Neligh-Oakdale and Clarkson/Leigh in Class D1.
    In Class C1, Aurora will take on Pierce. Bennington will take on Omaha Gross in Class B and Omaha Westside will face Gretna in Class A.
    Classes D1, D2 and A will play Monday. Classes C2, C1 and B will play Tuesday.
