West teams sweep CSO games

    For the second year in a row, the West teams swept Cambridge’s annual CSO All-Star basketball games on Friday.
    The West girls, including Chase County’s Bryn McNair and Wauneta-Palisade’s Cali Cox, won in overtime, 70-68.
    McNair was named the West’s MVP and Caylin Barnett of Southwest was the East MVP. Each led their team in scoring with McNair finishing with 20 points and Barnett scoring 21 points.
    In the boys’ game, the West ran away with the contest, 108-86.
    Chase County’s Kade Anderson scored 12 points in the win.
    Andrew Brosius of North Platte St. Pat’s hit five three pointers and was the West team’s MVP.
    Lexington’s Dru Truax nailed six three pointers and was MVP of the East team.
    Next up on the all-star game circuit are the North Platte Community College All-Star games June 2 and the West Nebraska All Star Games June 10.
