Wauneta-Palisade girls split with DCSHS, Wallace

Tuesday night Sept. 26 the Lady Broncos beat the 0-16 Dundy County-Stratton Tigers in a quick night of Volleyball at the home gym.
In the first set the Tigers where able to stay in the game early but eventually fell to the Broncos 25-17.
The Lady Broncos carried that momentum into the second set wasting no time getting the win 25-7. It was more of the same in the third set with the Broncos winning the set 25-12 and taking the match.
Thursday Sept. 28 the Lady Broncos traveled to Wallace to face the (18-2 ) Wildcats. Both of the Wildcat losses came in the first week of the season.
In the first set the Broncos stayed right with Wallace for most of the game but the Wildcats pulled away at the end winning the first set 19-25.
In the second set Wauneta-Palisade took the lead early and stuck with the Wildcats throughout the game but couldn’t put them away losing a very close 22-25 set.
That seemed to take the wind out of their sails and Wallace dominated the third set 8-25 to win the match.
That leaves the Broncos with an 8-12 record going into the next match on Tuesday Oct.3.
The Lady Broncos will host a triangular with Garden County (8-9) and Perkins County (12-8) starting at 4 p.m. MT. This will also be senior night.
Friday Oct.6 will be Homecoming in Wauneta with Arthur coming to town for a 3 p.m. MT. starting time.
